About this training
Improving School Attendance is perfect for those seeking to launch or expand school attendance efforts. Day 1 will focus on programmatic approaches used successfully by school districts and community collaborations around the country, and on simple steps that schools can take on their own. Day 2 will focus on strategies that case managers can use as they work with students and families. Strategies will include home visit safety, record-keeping, and preparing for court appearances. Work group and discussion time will be built into both days. Attendees will leave with lots of practical tips for organizing a community action plan and with the latest research on the importance of school attendance neatly packed for sharing back home. This 1.5 day training combines our traditional Best Practices in Preventing and Reducing Truancy and Attendance Advocate Training. Teams are welcome.
Who should attend?
This training is ideal for school and school district administrators, school personnel charged with improving attendance at K-12 pubic schools, and case managers who are often called Attendance Advocates. We will cover strategies appropriate for all grade levels.
Cost: $390. Coffee and snacks will be provided on Tuesday when our half day lasts from 1:00 – 5:00. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided on Wednesday, when our full day lasts from 9:00 to 4:00. If you have a large team, contact us to discuss a training at your location.
